Working in Partnership
As a small business ourselves we understand the impact supporting small local businesses can make.
We have always worked closely in partnership with lots of other local professionals and small businesses from Upholsterers, Fabric Suppliers & Stitchers.
We have been operating from our on-site workshop for many years and have provided both commercial and domestic customers with new and replacement services since 1972. Our enviable reputation gives us great pride and allows us to work with a diverse client range and a whole manner of materials. With all materials complying with the relevant requirements of The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.
To learn more about what we do and how we operate, read our FAQs below.
Can I choose my foam colour?
You cannot choose the colour of your foam, as the colour is used for manufacturers and suppliers to identify the grade.
Will my foam go soft?
Yes, overtime, with use, foam will soften. Higher density foams will last longer and take longer to soften than lower density foams. 10-15% is the average expected softening of foam with everyday use. However this is a variable figure based on the type of usage.
Why does my foam smell?
If you find your foam has a smell, this is not permanent and will disperse overtime with ventilation. The initial smell is a product of the manufacturing process.
What is a side of foam?
A side of foam is cut directly from the side of the block of foam. This means that not every side will be identical in size and will vary slightly.
What is Dacron?
Dacron is a polyester material, sometimes called wadding, and is used to round out and soften the edges of foam blocks. This is to create a fuller looking cushion.
What is Stockinette?
Stockinette is used to help your cushion glide in and out of a cover easier.
How do I go about getting new cushion inserts?
You are best to visit the workshop with your cushion covers. We can measure the covers and you can test the different seating foam samples at our sample station. Once you have chosen your preferred cushion insert type, we can advise the price and confirm the lead times.
Where will my new cushion insert be made
. All of our cushion inserts are made right here in Yorkshire, from foam and Dacron wadding manufactured in the UK!
*We add Dacron and Stockinette to all of our sofa cushion replacements as standard. Both Dacron and Stockinette are available to add to our other foam products upon request. And can also be purchased by the meter.*
